I don’t know where you live but my girlfriend is considerably cheaper than an escort. Where I live, an escort costs $330/hr or about $1,400 for an entire night. My GF maybe costs me $330/month.

Yeah, about $100. We live in Switzerland, so things are pretty expensive. For example this past Friday we went out for dinner at an Italian restaurant together. The restaurant was a bit fancy but not like haute cuisine, still relatively normal. Dinner for two cost us $202. Plus $18 in tips, so $220 in total. Afterwards we went to play billiard. The billiard hall charged us $57 for about 1h 45min of playing billiard. Finally we had to pay $5 each for a night surcharge to get home again (we both have public transport tickets but if you use public transport past 1 o’clock at night, it costs $5 extra). So yeah, that’s $287 for two people on a single date date. Actually, to be precise, it’s 287 Swiss Franks, which converts to about USD $311.

Only way to build confidence is success though, and I don’t think people realize that enough. “Just be confident” is easy to say when someone can reasonably expect success. I’m going up to the plate with a .000 batting average after tons of at-bats and being told ‘just be confident, you’ll get a hit!’ when I have no reason to be.

I legit don’t think you can be confident when you have no success. One ties into the other. Its one thing to be confident when you have no experience and thus no history to fall back on, its another to know you’ve failed entirely and no reason to expect things to go well.

I didn’t buy one, but there was this guy at a casino I was working security at. He paid an escort to go with him to the casino, and he spent like 8 hours playing poker with her and drinking. She ended up taking another couple hundred off him at the table, since he was drunk and betting stupid while trying to target her/get his money back that he’d paid her.
After losing horribly to her and everybody else, they ended up getting tacos at the bar, and while she was trying to eat, he reached for her purse. In a split second, she pulled the purse away and hit him across the face with the plate of tacos. She might have got a few other hits in, it was hard to see. He tried to walk out without doing anything else, but that’s about the time I made contact and made it clear it wasn’t ok for him to leave just yet.
Police were called, they told their stories, both tried to bullshit us/the cops. After viewing the footage, the police determined she was defending herself, and he was arrested. He called her out as an escort at this point, but with no actual evidence and for unknown reasons not explained to us, the cops decided not to pursue it.
It ended up extending my shift by another 2 hours or so, waiting for/dealing with cops. It was pretty funny, though.

Oh, they each have their own stories. Sometimes I did feel bad for regulars gambling into debt. I’ll never forget the kid who gambled his father’s life insurance away in 3 days. It was heartbreaking. I watched him fall into the gamblers fallacy, lose it all, then I never saw him again. I also heard one woman come in and saw “I need to make $4k in 3 days, or Im losing my house,” then slapped a handful of bills adding up to around $100 on the table.
Casinos are super depressing.
